*What Are The Differences of Dihydrated And Anhydrous Calcium Chloride?
- Dihydrated calcium chloride, chemical formula CaCl2•2H20, CAS No.10035-04-8; Anhydrous calcium chloride, chemical formula CaCl2, CAS No.10043-52-4.
- Dihydrated calcium chloride contains about 20% combined crystallization water, Anhydrous calcium chloride contains no water of crystallization.
- Dihydrated calcium chloride contains pure calcium chloride from 74% to 78%. Anhydrous calcium chloride contains pure calcium chloride from 90% to 98%.
- Dihydrated calcium chloride has a molecular weight of 147.0 g/mol, while anhydrous calcium chloride has a molecular weight of 110.98 g/mol.
- Anhydrous calcium chloride is more expensive than dihydrated calcium chloride.
- Anhydrous calcium chloride as a deicing agent works more effective than dihydrated calcium chloride.
- Different application needs different calcium chloride.
